Have you just received your GaiaCoords garment and want to keep it looking perfect over time? The printing or decoration technique makes a difference in how you need to care for it. Here's a practical guide for DTG, DTF, and embroidery.
DTG — Direct to Garment
DTG printing deposits ink directly into the fabric fibers, like a photograph printed on cotton. It is the most delicate technique to wash.
- Wash inside out, always
- Cold water or maximum 30°C
- Delicate or hand wash cycle
- Avoid bleach and fabric softeners — they degrade colors
- Do not wring, lay flat or hang to dry in the shade
- Do not iron directly on the print — use a protective cloth
DTF — Direct to Film
DTF printing applies a heat-adhesive film to the fabric. It is more durable than DTG but requires attention to heat.
- Wash inside out
- Cold water or maximum 30°C
- Avoid tumble drying — heat can lift the edges of the film
- Do not iron on the print
- Avoid aggressive rubbing during washing
Embroidery
Embroidery is the most durable technique, but the threads can deform if mistreated.
- Wash inside out to protect the threads
- Cold water, delicate cycle
- Avoid high-speed spinning
- Lay flat to maintain the shape of the embroidery
- You can iron, but only on the reverse side and with a damp cloth over it

Whatever the technique, these habits extend the life of your garment:
- Wash only when necessary — frequent washing wears out fabrics
- Use mild detergents for colored garments
- Separate dark clothes from light ones
- Always check the fabric label
